Ryan’s daycare had a special Christmas surprise for the kids, Santa stopped by for a visit! When I walked in all of the toddlers were crying! I grabbed Ryan and another kid and sat cuddled up as Santa read stores, sang songs and handed out presents. Ryan never warmed up to him but did appreciate the adorable chain saw that Santa brought him!
Santa left (changed in the bathroom) luckily his 2 kids didn’t recognize him and blow it for everyone! It was nice to mingle with the other parents while we snacked on lots of sweets! Ryan had his first Marshmallow and belted out a yummmm and begged for more!

We met G'rent Kain's at Toys R Us for a shopping adventure! The kids enjoyed playing with the toys and taking a free ride on the bus!

Breakfast with Great G'rent Sober's
We always say we don’t do it enough, but this weekend we enjoyed breakfast with Great Grent Sober’s (Jeremys mom’s dad) at Cracker Barrel! It’s always interesting to share a meal with 2 toddlers but they give us plenty to talk about! The kids loved their Christmas presents from them as well.
One of my all time favorite pictures though is Jeremy and Ryan together. Coincidentally their outfits matched. (I will say, I dressed Ryan first!!)

CarMax Holiday Party- Children's Museum
CarMax had a really fun HR Christmas party this year at the Children’s museum. They were offering more pictures with Santa but as soon as we walked through the doors Ryan freaked out so we skipped it and went for the gingerbread cookies and play area instead! After 3+ rides on the Carrousel we checked out the rest of the museum, other highlights for him were the ‘egg drop’, turtle exhibit and playing with the cashier. He always seems to try to go behind the register or in the kitchen at places so it was nice to let him explore and help! It was interesting to see him trying to keep up with the other kids and play with the big boys at the ball thingy. We’ll definitely be going back to the museum, we all enjoyed it!

Santa #2
We thought the 2nd time Ryan saw Santa he would be more comfortable, but he wasn’t! We wanted to get a picture or cousins Ryan and Mackenzie together for the Kain
Grents. The first try, Ryan had a death grip on Jeremy and wouldn’t sit down, at all!! So once the line went down, we went for a 2nd try. As soon as we walked in the room he clinched up! Lorin was determined to get the picture, crying or not so both kids screamed as they sat with Santa!

Jefferson Tree Lighting
We ventured out to see the Jefferson Hotel Christmas Tree Lighting on a Monday night. I’ve always admired how they decorate at Christmas and love the granger of the hotel. We learned meeting downtown after work with a toddler is a lot of work! We also learned that tree lightings aren’t that much fun for any of us! There were a lot of people and we weren’t able to wonder through the hotel to see all the decorations but we did enjoy the music and Ryan ate his packed dinner while we stood in the lobby!

Santa #1
Sunday morning we met the Barta Grents in Williamsburg for a quick visit to see Santa at the Yankee candle factory. Luckily the line wasn’t long but long enough for Ryan to check Santa out before hand. Even with the time to check things out, he didn’t like Santa again this year. Does it make me a bad mom for LOVING the crying Santa pictures? They kept trying to do things to make him happy but I just kept clicking away taking pictures of my child in fear of this beardy old man!
Black Friday
We didn’t make it out early for special sales but we were fine at Target at 10 and a quick stop at the pet store for Ryan to see the animals! Nothing crazy this year, just a relaxing day! Once Ryan got up from his nap we headed out to the country (Montpelier) to pick up at tree at a local nursery. We wanted more than a Lowes experience and the guys there were very friendly and helpful! We picked up a small tree this year to see how Ryan did with it, so far, so good. He hasn’t had much interest in pulling the ornaments off! *fingers crossed*
