Trick or Treat
Daycare Halloween Party
October 26-27- Weekend before Halloween
The first picture here is Ryan eating a sweet potato we packed for him while I conquered my craving for a hamburger at 5 Guys. I guess we didn’t move quick enough and he ate the whole skin, happily! Saturday we kept with our weekend tradition of bagels at NY Bagel where Ryan got to try on dads hat, I can’t believe it’s cold enough for it already!
This is when I realize that I take too many pictures at meals…I guess that’s where we’re sitting still and I think about it!
Saturday Jeremy helped his dad with house projects while Grandma Ryan and I ran a few errands which included lunch with the boys and of course Target!
We enjoyed 2 Halloween Parties, 1 kid friendly and 1 not! Ryan surprisingly didn’t mind his monkey outfit and loved the party! The Milkman and 50’s pregnant housewife hit up the adult party at the Kouns. Surprisingly Lorin was the one that threw up this year, right on the outside door of the Jeep due to left over Chickfila in the car. She’s obviously sensitive to smells theses days and even more disappointed that Chickfila would make her sick!!
Sunday we went to the beach to help the Barta’s put the pool cover on (yes, we realize it’s the end of October) and do a few other house projects. The cousins loved chasing Ryan around and entertaining him.
Since we didn’t think knives would be toddler friendly, we let Ryan paint his pumpkin this year. We used finger paint but he didn’t seem to want to get his hands dirty but he did actually like painting!

a few points:
-I love that he's picking his nose at the beginning
-Jeremy pegged him in the face
-I laughed the entire time
-Not like I thought it would turn out

Ryan was so tired Saturday after Amy ran him around the playground, we tried to keep him awake until we got home to take a nap but we gave in and so did he!

Ryan went to play with his friend Henry, they surprisingly played well together. I guess being boys of the same age, they're into the same things! They both loved opening and shutting the wet bar door, pushing the lawn mower and popper around and playing with this light switch which was just their size!!
Kain Family Pumpkin Patch
I'm not sure if Kenzie liked the slide!

Smoothie
Ryan actually enjoyed his 1st smoothie this morning and Lorin was really happy!!! She made a kale, spinach, coconut oil, flax seed oil and frozen fruit mix. She's looking forward to enjoying one with him every morning now!
TOUCHDOWN VCU
We went to cheer on VCU in their first scrimmage, good thing they would win either way!
We got there early to get good seats only to realized that the cheerleaders were standing right in front of us. At first Ryan couldn't set still but then enjoyed his box of raisins while he watched mainly the cheerleaders. He was a little confused, he kept saying touchdown!

Rainy Pumpkin Patch
A little drizzle wont stop us from the pumpkin patch. We met our neighbor friend, Wyatt and his parents. We didn't take the tractor out but instead migrated from one building to another! He couldn't help ourselves from a few cutout pictures. Ryan realized that he liked mums, or rather likes to damage mums. We were afraid they would make us buy all the ones he touched!
Splashing in pubbles
When I picked Ryan up from day care yesterday he went right for the rain puddle in the drive way. (typical boy!) He started stomping in it, then splashed his hands in it, then for some reason decided to lay down in it. He soon realized he made a bad decision. Walking home wet wasn't much fun!!

Forward Facing
Jeremy decided to flip Ryans seat around in the Jeep this weekend. I’m not sure who loved it more, him or me!! It’s funny to see him looking at us and for us to turn around and hand him things. I caught him a few times point out the front window, he seems to enjoy the view! There were a few times where we whined because he could see it though, out of sight out of mind maybe?
October 5-6- Summer in Oct
This weekend was HOTT, theres no other way to put it! Grandma B came to town to play and we’re glad she did because we needed the extra help at night and mornings! Ryan’s fighting a cold and woke up a lot, with 3 of us to rotate through and help was nice. She also got up with him to play in the morning to allow us to “sleep in”. (if 7-730 is sleeping in!!)
We didn’t let the heat slow us down (too much). Ryan has been intrigued with dogs lately so we thought Bark in the Park would be a great place for him to see a ton of dogs at once. We were right, he loved it! You’ll see at first he stayed close by our side but soon opened up and liked watching all the dogs. Not that I think of it though, I don’t think he touched any, only likes them from a distance!!
We found a fun *new to us* park at Deep run just his size to play on that we’ll be visiting again. After a long night and time in the heat, Ryan was ready for an early nap. While he napped Grandma B and Lorin ventured out to explore neighborhoods and catch some late morning yard sales and found some great deals!
Once we all cooled down from the heat, we headed back out to Touch a Truck. Ironic that it’s put on by the Junior League and this is the year that I decided to quit Junior League! Ryan was interested in the first truck, but as you can see, from a distance, not inside!
He love to “drive” in our cars so this was over load for him! He got to try all sizes, mac trucks, police cars, tractors. The good thing about sitting in the trucks was that most of them had their AC on so it was a quick relief from the heat! I found out later that we won a raffle for a free month of Romp and Roll so it was worth putting up with no shade.
Sunday we had breakfast in the park before Grandma headed home. Luckily Ryan took an early 3 hour nap so Lorin got a pedicure and nap and Jeremy got to watch football with friends!
Lesson learned… don’t take a toddler to the mall and grocery store alone. There aren’t enough raisins to make it pleasurable for both!
Bath Time
Ryan hasn't always been a fan of bath time, but he's getting better. I think he doesn't like water dripping down his face and in his eyes. I've contemplated getting one of those visors but feel that he's just going to have to get used to it! I love all the moments I captured from drinking the bath water (a nightly must) to the stare of "are you for real mom", to pure joy, face in the water for bubbles, to rinsing his hair and total dislike and reaching for me. No bath time is complete without brushing of the teeth, naked!
Sleeping Beauty
I've always loved checking on Ryan while he sleeps, it's so peaceful. Lately I've felt compelled to capture these moments and I wish I would've started earlier. He doesn't even flinch with the flash!
