Kain Beach Day 2
We were all sluggish after a long night with 4 little ones in the house, but nothing will hold us back from a day on the beach. Ryan got too wet in the cold water and didn't last long so we dried off for lunch. There's no other place to go then Capt'n Franks. We appreciate it even more now since it has a playground for him to play on. After a late nap, we took the kids down to the beach to run around and burn some energy.
Kain Beach Day 1
We are so lucky to have a gorgeous beach front house this week with the Kain crew! While the adults were unloading 3 car loads full, the kids wanted to see each room and pick theirs out, Real World style. The weather is fallish which allows us to be on the beach but not be super hot! We settled in and then went down to the beach to make sure there was enough sand and water for us!
Emily is 6 Months
My mom was right, this is one of the best times for babies! Emily is getting more personality, "talking" more, interacting and getting mobile! While she seems to be a squirt, the doctor is pleased with where she is size wise and told me not to worry! It's funny how I always thought Ryan was too big, and now I'm worried she's too small. I guess as parents it's our job to worry!

Fireman
This was a monumental day for me and Ryan. I've been wanting him to play dress up and explore his imagination, and today was the day! We slipped on his fireman outfit, threw on his hat and want to "help people". He INSISTED on going to the fire hydrant (next to the neighbors that just cut down their trees, that he talks about, all.the.time.)
Adventures with mom
Snapshot of our weekend
Saturday was filled with lots of work for Jeremy, so I kept the kids busy at the park and a few quick yard sales! Jeremy was able to finish up and meet us for dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery (I love their fleight of beers!) and then for the VT win!!
Sunday we headed to church and had our 1st experience of being called out of church to get our screaming child. Emily obviously wasn't happy that we left her with a bunch of other crying babies and wanted to make sure we came back and got her. After a little playground therapy, we all felt better! Jeremy helped Ryan fix the sink before we headed over to meet Kenzie and crew at Music in the Parks where the 2 kids ran around and 2 kids laid around.

Poop in the potty
*disclaimer* images may be graphic
But this proud momma has to share! Before his bath the other night, Ryan sat on the potty and POOPED!! He was so proud of himself and excited to get a treat! He caught us off guard and we don't really have anything for him since he doesn't like chocolate (what kids doesn't like chocolate!) so he got a gummie vitamin. An even prouder momma that he is excited to eat vitamins!!
We have a ways to go, he's definitely not potty trained, I do think it's a fluke, but he is on his way!!

Granddad Kains 95th Birthday
For Granddad Kain's 95th birthday, almost all of the Kain family got together to celebrate. We gathered at St. James Catholic Church and then herded (& sweat like crazy) for the largest family picture ever! We then realized what it feels like to herd cats as we tried to get all of the kids together for a picture with their great grandparents.
We headed inside to cool off with brunch and cake. It was great to catch up with all the cousins, aunts and uncles, but as always, there's never enough time. I'm honored to be a part of such a caring family and glad that Jeremy has such good genes! |
We all scream for icecream
My post pregnancy cravings have been chocolate chip cookies and McDonalds Icecream. Luckily, or maybe not so luckily, they are on sale this summer! Ryan used to not have any interest in what we ate until I gave him a bite of my McD's icecream. It started with just a bite or 2 of mine, then moved to me accidentally allowing him to hold the cone while we were driving...the rest is history and now he demands his own cone! We treated him to an icecream cone in the McD's parking lot!

Cooling off in the River
With our extra day this weekend, we wanted to be outdoors, but it was too hot! The last weekend of summer required we be in water so we headed down to Brown's Island where Jeremy and Ryan waded in the water an watched scuba divers find lost "treasures" in the water. Lorin and Emily held the towels down and took a bunch of selfies. The last one is an attempt at a family selfie. #selfiefail
Sleeping Beauties
Since Ryan converted to a toddler bed, we find him sleeping in the most random places and positions around his room, but usually not in his bed....
I love capturing them and then sneaking into Emme's room and taking a picture of her too! Her's aren't as exciting, but still cute! I think we'll be buying a "real" bed for him soon and will encourage him to sleep in it more! Until, the sleeping pictures will continue! |
