Aunt Nonnie
Ryan was so excited to see Aunt Nonnie visit that he skipped his nap!! He loved playing puzzles, reading, playing in the snow and feeding the squirrels and birds! Luckily with no nap, Aunt Nonnie and I were able to get the kids to bed early and head over to Ash Wednesday service at church. She got a taste of our life, the good bad and ugly, I wonder if she'll come back!!

Snow Fun
For my birthday, I got 8 inches of snow, instead of a spa day, I got a snow day with the family! I think it took more time to get us all dressed then we played in the snow! It wasn't good playing snow, it was powdery and didn't stick together so we took a stroll around the block to see if any friends were out and then headed back in to eat some snow. Ryan said it tasted like ice cream which at first made me think it was healthy ice cream but then I realized it's probably full of acid and toxins! After Jeremy went back to work Wednesday I ventured out with both kids, big mistake! Emily was miserable the whole time and Ryan would've stayed out all day! He enjoyed playing on the pile of snow from the snow plows.
Goggles
Ryan's treat for potty training was a fish, so before the snow storm came, we headed to the pet store to pick out Goggles. He wanted to take them all home and said Rocco, our elf on the shelf would bring them to him. We went to dinner while we were out and since it was freezing out, Goggles got to eat dinner with us!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day, or as Ryan has been saying, "Happy Holidays"!! We had an awesome family day today. We met Kenzie and Uncle Scott at Sky Zone to Jump our sillies out! Emme and I had some special time on the side lines together. After they worked up an appetite, we met Grandpa at the mall for lunch. The kids loved their Valentine's balloons from their grandparents!

"Good Bye Paci" said Ryan
It's been a big week in the Kain household. Not only is Ryan learning to use the potty, he has also given up his Paci. It started as a threat as he was misbehaving and not listening. I thought throwing away the paci was a serious enough threat to get him to listen, I was wrong. I was tricky and threw them in a shopping bag before putting them in the trash and then quickly grabbed them out when he wasn't looking. I wasn't ready to give them up, but I guess he was! The next day it happened again, this time I asked him to throw it away himself, he was overjoyed to, not the response I was expecting!! He's been talking about the trash truck coming to get his pacis all week. He's only asked a few times, but I do think his sleep has been affected by it.
Another side story that we didn't get pictures of. I have a shadow box of his new born things, bracelet from hospital, hospital hat, sign from hospital bassinette, and a paci that has his name on it. The other day we found that he took the shadow box off the wall, opened it up and got the paci out. I was sorta proud of him, and couldn't help but laugh!! |
Potty Training Weekend
Well, we decided to jump into potty training! We stayed close to home and were lucky for good weather to get some play time outside.
Day one, potty:1 underwear: 12 too many accidents Day two, potty:4 underwear 3 We learned our lesson, fruit snacks work wonders! (also known as "potty treats"!!) The highlight of my weekend was one time when I wished I had my camera, Ryan ran out the back door in just his underwear, socks and a tshirt, with a pot on his head running down the driveway, I guess he's getting stir crazy!! |
Jeremy's Birthday
|
Jeremy's birthday celebration was a lot different then his 30th in Vegas or his 35 at the Super bowl. This year he enjoyed the Super Bowl with the family, at home with taco dinner, 2 kids helping him blow out his candle and early to bed!
I'll speak for him and say he wouldn't want it any other way! On his actual birthday we joined him for dinner before he met with friends for a fantasy football gathering! |
