Adventure to Lowe's
We ventured out to Lowe's to check out some kitchen reno options and Ryan was hilarious! I've been waiting for the day where Ryan wants to wear something crazy and today was the day. He demanded he wear his "puddle boots" against both of our urging! He waddled all over, jumped on the lawn mowers and walked around with a bucket on his head! I was taking pictures of some kitchen options and he kept saying "cheese" wanting me to take a picture of him. Maybe this is a sign that I take too many pictures of him!!

Water/Soccer Fun with Henry
Henry and his parents came over for some evening fun in the water. We set up the slip n slide, pool and water table to entertain the boys! Jeremy even set up the TV outside so we could watch the World Cup game! The boys finally warmed up to playing together and only fought over a few toys. Emme tagged along on their play date and enjoyed the fresh air!

We have been anxiously waiting to meet sweet baby Luca so we rushed up to NOVA to see him and his parents, Rob and Angela. (and of course Buddy and Bruno) Ryan to tore the house a part and finally warmed up to petting the dogs. Emme and Luca stared at each other on his mat. We had the most amazing bbq thanks to Rob! ;)

CMoR Fun
We met Kenzie and clan at the CMoR for a little afternoon fun! Kenzie was dressed for the splash pad and didn't get wet at all and I didn't change Ryan into his suit and of course he got soaked! We all enjoyed a picnic outside and then cooled off inside before heading home to crash.
I captured this adorable video as we were leaving, I think this is the first time she has smile and laughed at him! They were talking back and forth for a while!

4 Month Shoot
Although we don't have the official stats from the doc, here are Emily's adorable 4 months pictures! My favorite is the last one of her crying, you can see the little feet that were approaching her, she can sense him coming! I'm working on a rule of he's not allowed on her blanket but it's hard when he loves her so much!
Uncle Mike's Surprise Carnival Birthday!
VA Beach
Pool Fun
With the temps close to 100 this week, we whipped out the pool to keep cool. Ryan loved to get wet in the pool with the air pump and slide, Emily even got in on the action!

Father's Day- Con't
I hope that we made father's day special for Jeremy because he means a lot to all of us. I think sometimes I tell him too much how much I appreciate him and his level of commitment to our family. He is such a hands on father and I am so grateful. We started the morning with breakfast at the Dairy Bar and then headed to Three Lakes Park to get some energy out in hopes of an early nap. We all were a little tired after running around the park and checking out the turtles.
For once I was happy that Ryan woke up early from his nap so we could high tale it to the Flying Squirrels game to catch the last 3 innings. We debated if it was worth the money and being in the heat with both kids but after we got there and parking was free and they let us in for free, it was well worth it. And to see Ryan's smile and excitement for baseball made it worth it, even if we would've had to pay for it!!
Ryan sat in amazement and seemed to really get it. He got even more excited when Happy and Roar songs came on! Emily slept through the whole game but seemed to enjoy it! At the end of the game we noticed they were letting kids run the bases so we decided to take Ryan down and see if he would be up for it. I wasn't even sure if he would be able to make it all around, but he did!
We finished out the day with a stop at BW3's to watch golf and soccer. We love his facial expressions while trying to open a toy from the gum ball machine.

One of my favorite quotes of the day was when I over heard Jeremy instructing Ryan:
"If you fall, just tuck and roll!"

Happy 2nd Birthday, again
Today was Ryan's actual due date, 2 years ago so we decided to celebrate with a cake and candle since we hadn't done so yet! He happily blew the candles out twice and asked to do it yet again! Surprisingly, he ate the cake and seemed to enjoy it! However, he didn't want the chocolate cake that Grandma offered!

Father's Day Weekend- Con't
Grandpa/papa/poppa/granddad and Grandma/memaw/grand mother came over to celebrate father's day. It was a gorgeous day to grill out and spend some quality time together. Emily and Ryan loved playing and cuddling with both grandparents!
Father's Day Weekend
I can’t think of anything that would show Jeremy how
appreciative I am that he’s such a wonderful father or show him how much we all
love him. So, we asked him what he
wanted to do.
We started the weekend at the SoTJ farmer’s market with, guess it, bagel and a donut. After a hike down to the pond encouraged by Ryan, I needed encouragement to get back up the big hill! There were police horses that Ryan was pretty obsessed with, but once again wouldn’t touch them! We ventured over to another one of our favorites, Pony Pasture to climb on rocks and enjoy the water. I wish I could’ve gotten a picture of the sign, life jackets required due to high waters. #irresponsibleparents #2funparents
He loved it and it was worth it, even though I got a few more grey hairs watching them from the sidelines with Emme.

Fun this Week
We got around this week, in the heat and rain. But surprisingly also spent a lot of time at home playing around the house!
Ryan has been obsessed with trains lately so when Short Pump was having a "pals" day focused around their mall train, I knew we had to make it. Even though it was a hot day, we went, we got the hat, we watched the train, we played with trains and we ate ketchup! But we didn't ride the train....even with free tickets and watching all the other kids, he had no desire to ride, but he did want to follow the train throughout the mall! However, as we were following the train, we ran into Scott and Regan and Joseph Michael!
The next day, yet another mommy and me event at Willow Lawn, and another hot day! The Diggity Dude's, a kids band, was playing. We got a few freebies, walk around and then Ryan wanted to sit on the out skirts, the shade, under a tree. I couldn't complain because Emily and I needed the shade, but I'm not sure why he didn't want to be in the mix of the fun and kids!
Luckily some rain came and cooled things off, naturally we grabbed our rain boots and went puddle jumping! Emily even got in on the fun on our family walk in the neighborhood in the big stroller!

Polo
Horsey, neigh, ball, neigh, go? horsey, go? bubbles.
What was our day Sunday as we met the Keenans and Mannixs at King Family Winery in Charlottesville for a Polo match. We had more food and kids then anyone around us, but we were surprised by the amount of other kids there and how kid friendly it was. The kids were able to run around and the adults were able to drink some wine and munch on all the delish food.
It was the 1st time (I think) that we skipped a nap for Ryan and we're still paying for it 2 days later. He slept on the way there and back, briefly, but nothing to qualify as a nap!
Emily slept through most of it but when she did wake up she enjoyed the fresh air and people watching!
Oh yeah, there were horses and 2 polo matches! None of us knew any of the rules and I must admit, between watching 2 kids and Jeremy, I didn't watch much of the match!

Stony Point Splash Pad
After a nap had by almost all, we headed over to Stony Point to splash in their splash pad and ran into Kenzie and family! The kids ran around and enjoyed listening to the 80's cover band playing!
Charlotte-Maya
We were honored to be apart of Charlottes Hebrew naming ceremony, a first for us. It was very special and meaningful! Having 2 kids didn't allow us the opportunity to take any pictures but I hope to get a few from Caroline soon!
It was a special day because Emily got to wear an outfit from her Great Grandma Barta! Mom loved the color and I think she liked it too based on the smiles!

Summer Saturday
It's not a truly good Saturday without a visit to SoTJ, a donut and a bagel! Ryan was glad to be able to show Brian and Ella around at their 1st visit to the market!
Strawberry Picking/Trampling
Today was a perfect day to be outside, so we ventured out to the strawberry patch. I'd heard conflicting reports on the strawberry status at this farm, 1 said they had berries, another said they didn't. When I called the farm, they said they did so I went ahead and made the trek!
I should've listened to the one that said they didn't have berries!! Ryan had a good time playing with the hay, toys, tractor and dogs. Emily actually was awake and got some fresh air.
I finally convince Ryan to head to the berry fields, rather than making the trek to where they said the big berries were I took him down the first few rows, and I'm glad I did, his excitement didn't last long! We went down a few aisles and ate a few berries and then he threw a fit that I wouldn't let him play in the woods and run in the other field they were harvesting!

CMoR Splash Pad
It's been HOTT..which means we need water! We met Kenzie and her clan at CMoR Splash pad. It was really cute to see to see Ryan imitate the other kids and figure out how to play with the flash pads. I love the last picture, Kenzie was putting one of the foot toys on her foot, I love the shadows of mom and aunt looking over her!
Emme
Emme has been finding her voice lately

I think she may have rolled over, too! She was on her side and then pushed over to her belly!

Birthday Tradition- Joe's Inn
We started a tradition last year of going to Joe's Inn for Birthday dinner. This year we were a little late but still wanted to make sure we honored the tradition and got the obligatory picture on the bench!
Flash back to last year:
