March 31 - Easter with the Kain's

We woke up this morning disappointed to hear the rain.  We knew going to the Kain's there would be a lot of cousins there for a big Easter Egg Hunt and we were excited for Ryan to have fun with all of them.  After opening our Easter Basket at home, we still got ready and headed down to Ryan's Grandparents house early.  Grandma and Grandpa had a easter basked for Ryan as well, so he was lucky to get so many fun toys.  When we got to his Great Grandparent's house, the house was already filled with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  The rain finally letup just after noon and luckily the Easter Bunny still had time to visit and lay some eggs in the yard.  The kids had a great time and Ryan even got his first egg from a hunt!  We finished up the day with a nap at Grandma & Grandpa's before a little more play time.  Jeremy had to get home to root against Duke, so we all finished the night off happy with a Duke loss.

March 30 - Easter with the Barta's

Picture
We headed to Virginia Beach today for Easter with the Barta's.  It was smooth sailing down the Interstate and a beautiful day once we got down there.  With temperatures around 70, it was a great day to sit outside, catch up with family and relax.  We started off with an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids, they're catching on to all of our good hiding spaces as it didn't take them too long to find all of the eggs.  Next was a big Easter lunch with Ham, Potatoe Salad and Deviled Eggs.  It was so nice outside we even decided to take the cover off the pool (maybe motivated by Jeremy falling in earlier in the day).

Traveled in an airplane to Kansas

Jeremy's 1st trip to Vegas as a Dad

March 23-24

While the cat is away, the mice will play!  Ryan and Lorin stayed active while Jeremy was in Las Vegas for March Madness with the guys!  Grandma B came into town to help and play with us which we all enjoyed!  We started our Saturday with a good consignment sale shopping for Ryan and then headed over to Short Pump Mall to meet Grandpa Kain and Mackenzie and family for pictures with the Easter Bunny.  Both kids did MUCH better with the bunny then Santa.  Ryan lit up right away when we sat him on his lap.  Surprisingly Ryan didn't mind his hat after he pulled it off once and I put it back on.  He left it on most of the afternoon!  We went to Saturday evening church service where Ryan entertained the people sitting behind us by standing up and patting their hands.  He stayed pretty quiet, with a paci in but was in a good mood so it's hard shh him for being happy!  Grandma got to see Ryan in the big boy bath tub and his reaction to water being poored on him.
Sunday we went to Rompy's house where he got to play with his friend Henry and other friends we've gotten to know over the last 3 months.  It's been fun to watch the other kids grow and are now interacting more!

Ryan's Birthday

Jeremy and I decided that we would keep Ryan's 1st Birthday party small with just family but then can't decide when we do it due to Memorial Day weekend. (5/25-5/26) We figured since people that visit this website must care about Ryan we thought we would invite you too!  Now you have to help us decide when to do it!  We'll pick the most popular date (one vote per person!) and then request RSVPs from the website!

March 17- Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ryan enjoyed a play date with the Kain's and a relaxing day of VCU and UNC basketball!  Grandma rocked Ryan to sleep and held him his entire nap, I'm not sure who enjoyed it more!
Kenzie tried showing Ryan how to walk and get into everything!  They chatted with each other and tried eating each other's food!
Grandma made a delicious spaghetti dinner and we had cake for dessert for "everyones" birthday!  The kids were cute when we started singing Happy Birthday!

March 16

Lorin enjoyed brunch out to celebrate Kristen and Baby Kalk on the way!  She only has 4 weeks (or perhaps 1!) and we can't wait to meet Ryan's new friend!  Lorin is already dreaming of taking the kids to the pool together in the Kalkosky's new neighborhood pool!  Lorin pulled into the culdasec to see Jeremy, Ryan and Rascal sitting in the middle of the road...what.in.the.world!  Jeremy said they wanted to play!
We met Kenzie and her parents at the Innsbrook St. Patty's Palooza, our first festival of the year!  You'll see in one of the pictures what happens when you ask Scott to take a picture of us!
The Keenan's treated us to freshly smoked Ribs while Amy and Ryan enjoyed dinner side by side!  Amy showed Ryan how to play with all of her toys and how well she knows her letters!  She must've thought he was thirsty because she kept bringing his water cup!
It was a long Saturday, Ryan was zonked as soon as we got in the car!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

March 10

Ryan enjoyed some quality one on one time with his Great grandparents Kain.  Grandma showed him her walker which he took around for a stroll and their basket of toys that many generations have played with!  It was great to see

March 3- Fun around the House

Ryan had a lazy afternoon with a 3 hour nap!  During his nap Jeremy was able to install his new car seats in each of our cars.  After his nap we got him up to play and entertain us!  It was a big day of dropping his bed lower so we thought we would show him before we put him to bed.  The FIRST thing he saw was his tray of paci's and went right for them, it's like a baby jack pot!  Need less to say, we've move the tray to a lower shelf!  It was then bath time in the big boy bath tub, he enjoyed standing up to see us prepare, and even tried to keep standing during his bath!
It was an emotional for Lorin with so many big mile stones!

March 2- nap times have changed

As I peeked in on Ryan I noticed that nap times have changed...and we're going to need to change the height of his mattress!  It was hard not to laugh at him and grab the camera!  He was being quiet and entertaining himself but in the ended needed to be rocked to sleep!
Here's a link to a video we took of Ryan's video monitor when we noticed he could stand in his crib!
