New Childcare- Mrs. Kelli
Ryan started a new chapter today as he joined Mrs. Kelli at her house for new daycare.  I *think* we lucked out when I came across her ad on Craigslist that she’s new to the area (military husband) and restarting daycare in her home.  She has 4 kids of her own, but all are out of the house in school and preschool.  Ryan will be the only full time kid right now so he’ll get lots of one on one attention.  One thing that Jeremy and I liked about her was that she had a backup, her sister who was a teacher at Godard.  She’s there with her PT and will help when she needs to do things for herself of family or if someone’s sick.  The other thing we like is that she’s in our neighborhood, in the cul-de-sac right next to us!!  I’m hoping to not have to wrestle Ryan into his car seat every morning and maybe just walk him over!

He seemed happy to watch the dog and other kids.  They easily distracted him with blocks and there were lots of smiles, I hope they continued when I left!

I snapped a few pictures in between tears (mine, not his) before I ran out the door and broke down crying. (I blame the baby hormones)

Once I got to work I realized I forgot to bring the sheet of paper I prepared of all the ins and outs of Ryan, what he eats, his schedule, things he likes…oh well, good thing she has email!

I love the picture she sent him, not sure if I love it more for 1. his smile that he gets to color with markers or 2. the fact he’s coloring with markers, without a bib or over shirt!!  :)

Last Weekend of Sept

Ryan learn at daycare to quack like a duck and make a duck move, it’s adorable!  When we came out of breakfast the other morning, we were greeted by 2 ducks and Ryan LOVED it!  He kept chasing them around the bushes and then realized that the rest of their friends were over by the pond.

We try and take family walks since it’s been nice out and Ryan seems to love the fresh air!

We had a pretty unplanned weekend, which was nice for a change!  The only thing on our agenda was to finish touching up paint on the baseboards from when we got carpet (in May) and paint our ugly, dingy, off white doors, white.  We accomplished 1 of the 2, not bad!  We bought a horse to help paint the doors, does that count as points??

Other than that we hung around the house, quacked at the ducks, jumped out of showroom cabinets at Lowes and watch Sunday morning cartoons in bed.

Icing on the cake/weekend was that we all took naps both days, it was amazing!
I've realized that if I upload pictures not on my personal computer through Picasa, I can't rotate them!  I'll get back to that one day...hopefully, just tilt your head so you can see them better for now!

Big and Biggest Cousin

Ryan is going to be a big cousin and Mackenzie is going to be the biggest cousin of 4.  That is, of the Karen and David Kain family!  The Kain’s were gathering at the Grandparents house to celebrate there anniversary and we thought it would be good since they were all together to share the news that they were both going to be big siblings!

Although it was a little confusing since Ryan is the 23rd cousin already and I think the next one will be 28ish.  The aunts took a few minutes to figure it out but were excited to share the news with us!

September 20-21

What a weekend, it flew by!  Much to Jeremy and Scott’s dismay, Regan and I had a yard sale Saturday morning at our house and I deem it a success!  We both got things out of our house that we normally wouldn’t and made money on it.  The guys should be happy that nothing that went out of the house, came back in.  After the sale was over, we loaded the left overs up and took them to Goodwill.  All in all, I probably wouldn’t do another yard sale, it takes a lot to go through and decide what you want to get rid of and then have it sitting around your house in preparation for a few weeks!  I think we had a fun morning though, the kids even got to come out any play!

Sunday Jeremy headed to cheer on the Lions at the Redskins game.  Ryan and I met Kenzie and her parents at Maymont for petting zoo fun and a walk around the park on a gorgeous day.  It’s funny to see the difference in Kenzie and Ryan.  Kenzie runs up fearlessly to the animals while Ryan admires from a distance but wont touch!  We walked around the check out the other animals and Richmonders.  Regan even was interviewed for a VCU executive MBA video some students were taping in the gardens.
Let me tell you, that hill up, with a stroller, and baby in stomach was tough!  Luckily, we wore Ryan out enough that he fell asleep in the stroller to enjoy the ride.  He woke up just in time for lunch outside at Station 2.  In hopes of an afternoon nap, we headed home only to reveal that only one of us wanted to nap, and it wasn’t Ryan!

Instead I lugged him around to Target and Martin’s and fed him at each store to keep him occupied!
